Yardstick Software is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead the business development efforts for our business Yardstick Training. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing the business through new customer acquisition and relationship building. Their primary duties include: outbound sales prospecting, participation in conferences and tradeshows, and developing relationships in new industries/associations.

What will you be doing?  

  • Business Development lead for all of Canada and the U.S. focused on Safety Solutions
  • Achieve sales targets set for our Yardstick Training business while keeping in mind the quarterly and annual business’s strategy
  • Work with the GM Safety Solutions to implement and manage a business plan/sales strategy for the geographic regions to attain sales goals
  • Work closely with teams and potential client leadership/decision makers to turn qualified leads into strategic sales opportunities
  • Provide accurate funnel reporting, analysis, and feedback to leadership team regarding performance of region and opportunities
  • Prepare and send proposals, price quotes and/or information requests to qualified leads
  • Conduct software demonstrations and presentations of Yardstick Training’s services and capabilities
  • Travel for conferences and in-person meetings with prospective customers and partners 

What are we looking for?

  • Post-secondary education, especially in business, marketing/communications, or the equivalent in experience, is an asset
  • Sales experience in a safety, technology, consulting, or similar environment
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce) is an asset
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and presentation skills coupled with developed interpersonal abilities.
